Configuration Management Database (CMDB) CMDB is an easy-to-use, cloud-based single system of record for your IT infrastructure and digital services. It allows you to share consistent information about your IT environment across ServiceNow applications so that the applications work seamlessly together. CMDB stores information about individual IT components—for example, servers, applications, or cloud resources— as Configuration Items (CIs). CIs in turn have attributes that provide information about the IT component, such as its characteristics or how it is configured. CMDB also identifies relationships between CIs.
